Care Guide

GLYDER GUIDE: HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR NEW GEAR

We put a lot of work into making quality garments that last - but proper care makes all the difference to give it the longest possible life span. Here are some of our tips to keep it at it’s best:

Basic Care:

  • Best practice: To ensure the best possible care, read the care instructions on each garment and follow accordingly.
  • Cold Water: It’s good for the environment and good for your clothes. Hot water can break down fabric, and lead to shrinking.
  • Air drying is #1: If you have the time, air drying your garments is always going to preserve them the best. Especially if you want to preserve the length of your leggings; you should always lay them flat to dry.
  • In a pinch: We get it - sometimes life is crazy and you just need to throw your clothes in the dryer, stick with a tumble dry on low heat.
  • No F.B.I. - Not the U.S. Security Service - but no fabric softeners, bleach, or ironing. Fabric softener kills your clothes moisture wicking capabilities, bleach is just bad, and ironing can burn the fabric. Try an organic linen spray for that fabric softener smell and steam clothes to remove any wrinkles.

Helpful Tips:

  • Go easy on the detergent: A little less than the bottle recommends is usually enough to get your garments clean. Excess detergent can build up, trapping dead skin and creating an ideal environment for fungus.
  • Like with like: Your mom taught you this, and it’s never going to do you wrong. Keep similar colors together, and similar fabrics too. Avoid mixing anything with zippers and velcro with your garments - these can snag delicate pieces.
  • Odor Eliminator: For those of you who push yourself to the max each workout, we applaud you, and recommend getting out any odors by soaking your garments in a mixture of cold water and half a cup of white vinegar for 15 to 30 minutes prior to washing.
  • Towels by themselves: Unless you want to lint roll your pants for 15 minutes before your workout, keep towels in a separate wash. Cotton pills from the towels can attach to your garments very easily, and are not so easy to remove.

We want your apparel to look and perform it’s best for years to come, so make sure you take proper care steps to keep it that way.
